Wanna hear something good? After a long day earlier this week, I opened up Facebook, and the first thing I saw was a post from a Veteran we met four years ago. For a moment, the day's stresses vanished as I read his post as he shared his heart.
“I just realized that four years ago today, I was on a plane to a place that changed my life forever. Camp Hope in Houston, Texas, saved my life. I was in a very dark place. In and out of VA facilities that only gave me more meds to help my PTSD. I was broken. Over the past four years, I have restored relationships and can handle my issues without hiding. I have more friends and people who care about me than ever before. My faith is stronger than it has ever been. I am in the best shape of my life, both physically and mentally. I am grateful for everyone who helped me on this journey, especially my sister, who always believed in me even when no one else did. If you are a veteran or know a struggling veteran, there is hope. You are not alone. God is good, and I was blessed with a second chance at life. I still struggle some days, but I remind myself how far I have come, and that life is worth living.”
Thank you for partnering with us as together we serve those who have served on our behalf in combat. So many more need our services; we can't reach them without your continued support. Please consider giving us a financial gift to help us reach the next veteran. Let a Veteran know today that you appreciate their sacrifice and service!
David Maulsby
Executive Director
At Camp Hope, we battle daily to heal our country's veterans from the unseen wounds of war, also known as PTSD. We provide interim housing and PTSD treatment at our 5-acre facility to our veterans free of charge because of donations from community partners like you.

Thank you to all our Donors
Another ten handmade quilts were delivered to our veterans by Raynelle Byerley and her friends at Sewing Seeds of Kindness. We cannot thank these ladies enough for their tireless hours of work.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Pastor Stan Ammons from American Legion Post 560, who kindly donated Valentine's Day cards and candy to our veterans at Camp Hope. The veterans are extremely grateful for the kindness you have shown them through these amazing donations.
Community Cattle
We are celebrating the amazing generosity of young Master Quinn Klenke and his family, who, a year ago, set out on a mission to raise cattle for the community. Quinn's steer, T-Bone, was raised and processed with utmost dedication to benefit the veterans at Camp Hope. Recently, Quinn, accompanied by his parents, delivered the processed beef to the overjoyed veterans and assisted in unloading and storing it.
We also need to give special thanks to Quinn's great Aunt and Uncle, Mary Ellen and Karl Klanke, for sponsoring T-Bone and to Willie Joe's Processing Company for generously donating the processing fees. We can't thank you all enough for assuring us that our guys are well-fed.
A big thank you goes out to Wayne Stephens, the owner of CrosTex Construction, Inc., who generously donated a load of torpedo sand and black landscape gravel for the Garden of Hope. These materials will help secure the paving stones and provide adequate drainage for the garden, which helps feed our Combat Veteran residents.
This is not the first time Wayne has donated materials to our cause. He recently collaborated with Ovintiv to assist his daughter/employee, Devin Stephens, in refurbishing our Eagle Monument area. Wayne donated weed blockers, sand, grass, and gravel to help with the landscaping project. Your continued support is invaluable to our mission.
Eagle Scout prospect David Bryson came to Camp Hope with his dad, Joe Bryson, to get measurements and ideas for 2 benches that will be located at the Serenity Cross. He will build the benches in Katy and deliver them to Camp Hope. There is a long and detailed process to start from scratch with the idea, paperwork, and manufacturing of the benches.
Super Bowl Sunday Feast at Camp Hope
Warpig BBQ prepared a delicious pulled pork sandwich lunch with all the fixings, including a sandwich bar on Super Bowl Sunday for the veterans at Camp Hope. It was enjoyed by all, and they had full bellies by kick-off.
Big City Wings provided 400 boneless wings for the guys to snack on during the game. We can't thank you enough!
